When I was to be working on my dissertation, I went back to my local high school for some of my research. I went to high school in a very small town and thought that the kindergarten through grade twelve school, was the perfect one to use for my research. It was awesome to see the school again and to see some of my old teachers.

I talked to my old history teacher about my thesis writing. He was the man that made me want to further my education. He was always very supportive of us when we were in high school and he never chose favorites. He loved us all and it was so wonderful to see him again. He encouraged us to always be the best that we could be, whether that meant going to college or not.

He was very excited to hear that I was working on my dissertation. He said that he had always known that I would go very far and be very successful. He remembered me having drive and determination that most high school students just don’t have. I am glad I chose to come “home” for my research and I know I made the right decision.
