Odds are that you are thinking about going on vacation. We don’t blame you, we all look forward to that next vacation, and sometimes it is the only thing that keeps us going on a rainy Monday morning. Before you decide on your next vacation destination, consider Asia. This region is a fabulous area to explore and offers a whole new culture and will give you a new look on life. Each area of Asia offers its own interesting sights, culture and food.
Among the very first benefits of an Asian vacation will be the exchange value. All currencies in the Asian region are favorable when compared to the US dollar. So while on your Asian vacation, you can stretch your dollar to get you that much further and to do so much more. Add that to the fact that in regions like India and China there is always a craving for the green back and you can rest assured that you will manage the best deal.
An Asian vacation can offer you a bit of everything, from a pampered, lush hotel room with all the amenities within a metropolis, to thatched huts near temples and ruins where you can really get a feel for Asia’s culture and history. You can get an even wider diversity of culture if you include India in your itinerary. Some choose to travel through several areas during their vacation, so they can experience many cultures all in one period. If you really want to get a great experience, you either want to have a long vacation so you don’t feel hurried, or maybe limit your trip to just one or two regions.
The same is the case with China. Mainland China itself, with its millions of villages, cities and towns to see, will occupy a fair bit of your time. And when you consider that your Asian vacation will never be complete without visiting regions like Tibet, Hong Kong and Taiwan (associated in one way or another with China) you will see that you invariably will crave a longer vacation. And what is an Asian Vacation that does not include the famed temples of Cambodia and especially Angkor Vat in its itinerary? Most Americans ill also make Vietnam a part of their Asian vacation for obvious, historical reasons. Indonesia, Laos, Burma and Bhutan are often visited not just for their scenic beauty, but also for spiritual and religious reasons.
Those who want to immerse themselves into Asia, but wish to avoid language barriers should consider visiting the more Westernized regions such as Singapore and Tokyo, Japan. These areas will offer accommodations and amenities very similar to what you will find back home. You should easily be able to navigate through the towns and many citizens will have some English-speaking skills so you don’t have to try out your Mandarin or Japanese. There are still many historical sights within the city and you may feel more comfortable there on your first visit to Asia.
