One classic meal that is easy to prepare is the American pot roast. It is a balanced diet of roast, potatoes, onions and carrots slowly cooked to preserve the nutrition and the delicious taste. To cook it, put the clean potatoes, onions, and carrots at the base of the pot, fill half of the pot with water, put the roast on top and plug it to cook.

For some varieties this is a tender and delicious dish, especially when you pour a can of cream of mushroom soup on top, which turns into gravy. Leftovers can be used to make stroganoff by adding noodles or hot roast beef sandwiches.

Fajitas are another meal easily made using a cockpot. Prepare chicken, shrimp or steak with quartered fresh tomatoes, onions and peppers. Toss it all in the pot and add some taco seasoning. Serve with tortillas or nachos and cheese when you arrive home.

This is one dish that can be eaten in numerous ways. Leftovers can be used later for vegetable salad or even as rice toppings for a heavier meal.

Ham with beans is a great crockpot meal. You can use ham hocks, or a whole boneless ham product for this dish. By adding potatoes and carrots, you create a very flavorful and well-balanced meal. Just add some cornbread or corn muffins for a filling meal.

You can easily make chilli in a crockpot by simply adding some browned meat along with onions, peppers, tomatoes, kidney and pinto beans. Top it off with chilli seasoning and come home to a mouth watering aroma wafting out of the kitchen.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless. You can put everything in the crockpot the night before so all you’ll need to do is plug it in before you go to work. This is a great method to prepare healthy and well-balanced meals for your family.
