The last part of your article that the reader will see is the Resource Box and it follows the final paragraph of your actual text. This area is often referred to as the Authors Bio Box. A lot of thought should go into completing this box, because of how important it is in promoting you and your business. When I first started writing articles, I didn’t understand the real significance of this box, and I was entering way more information than was necessary. I was practically putting my life history there, until it was pointed out to me that the reader can check my bio information elsewhere if they want to know more about me.
On doing some research on the importance of the Resource Box, I realized that it’s main purpose was to motivate the reader to take action that would benefit my business. For most of us, that action would see them clicking on the links we have provided that directs them to our website.
The following information should be included in this area:
* your name
* a brief history of your background
* your present employment
* an invitation to take action (visit your website)
If you look at my Resource Box at the end of this article, you will see that I have included all these things in a very concise paragraph. People are reading your article because they are interested in the information you are providing. They did not click onto the article to read about you. However, in the Resource Box you give them the opportunity to get to know you better, by visiting one of your websites. Hopefully, you have provided enough valuable information that they will want to see what else you have available on your other sites.
You have to be willing to devote nearly as much time to creating your Resource Box as you did to your article. The truth of the matter is, your business is not going to grow at all from your article writing, if you cannot get the reader off that page and onto your website. You might even be on the front page of Google with your article but that is going to do nothing for your business if you cannot capture their attention and interest enough to get them clicking on your link. You have put so much effort into writing a great article, so please don’t forget this very important step.
You are usually allowed to have two links in your Resource Box. If you attempt to put more than that in, the article directory will have to modify the content, and that might end up giving you a problem. My feeling is that two links are quite sufficient. We are talking about just one paragraph here. Most of the time both of my links go directly to my website but there are times when I use one for my website and one for my social networking sites, such as YouTube or Facebook. This way, people can get to know me better.
You are given a great opportunity with this Resource Box to reach out and connect with people. My suggestion to you is that you take full advantage of it….then stand back and watch your business grow!
