Patio Cushions For Various Needs

Different types of patio cushions used in households are chair pads, floor cushions, and pet beds. These cushions provide comfort and support for users and furniture accents as well.

Chair pads are being used to make hard seat surfaces more relaxing and softer to sit on. However, this primitive purpose had already evolved to more advanced usage to satisfy various consumer needs. Among those needs are cost, style, and medical conditions. Some pads can be constructed differently to meet financial capacity of more consumers. Designs like flower patterns and plaids are also available for varying themes in each home. Size is another consideration for chair pads. It must fit to various seating capacity ranging from single use to family use.

Some homeowners combine patio cushions and furniture into one. This is known as floor cushion and is ideal for those who avoid expensive and bulky patio furniture. Floor cushions are smaller and easier to rearrange because of its lightweight and not to mention its cheaper price compared with typical furniture. Such cushion implies fresh idea through its striking color and provides comfortable seat for families and guests through its firm construction.

For cats and dogs, pet beds as their cushioning. Through its carefully researched material and construction, pet beds provide the same level of comfort for household pets as that with human cushion.

Aside from cushion type, another important aspect of patio cushions is its filling. Various filling provide different effects and levels of comfort.

First is the conventional foam. It is commonly used in couches, mattresses, and other home applications. It is available in varying shapes from rectangular foams to T-shaped foam blocks and its edge can be rounded depending on its application area. Custom shapes are also available for window seats and other applications like boat mattress filling.

One filling alternative for conventional foam is the outdoor foam. While conventional foams are used in covered patios, the latter is very much applicable for uncovered patios and other outdoor applications. It has bigger foam cells causing water to penetrate to the other side of the foam with little effect on its performance.

Patio cushions like foam sacks, bolsters, and leg pads can provide additional comfort and support to users because it can follow the contour of the body. This is achieved through the use of advanced fillings like memory foams and polyurethane. Foam sacks are simply bean bags filled with polyurethane rather than bean-like stuffing. Bolsters are tube-like cushion commonly used as fillers but can also be used for leg and back support. Lastly, leg pads are similar to swimming pull buoy used in minimizing pressure in the lower body.
