I found a website the other day that gives out presale codes to get tickets to concerts in different areas of the country. They had all types of concerts listed too, everything from rap to comedy tours were listed, but it looked like maybe the codes to get the tickets before they went on sale were only for certain venues or certain cities.
Maybe that has to do with the promoters not wanting to cut into sales or something, I’m not certain, but the idea of getting tickets before they go on sale to the general public is pretty cool if it is for the type of show that gets sold out really quickly.
There are a couple concerts I’d personally like to see, but I didn’t see them listed and I know they sell out quick. Michael Bubble and The Black Eyed Peas would be so much fun to see in person. I love Bubble! He sings classics like Sinatra did but he also writes songs too and has a couple hits out that are on both the pop and country charts.
The Peas would be just plain fun, I think, but I’m not sure they are even together anymore. Maybe Fergie’s solo career put the Peas on the back burner for a while?
Here’s a bit of flash fiction. Enjoy.
The spy, wishing this operation were paying him better, peered through a periscope device disguised as the corner of the van’s luggage rack. He grunted in surprise as he typed codes into his laptop that translated into “black limo new jersey tags,” along with the plate number of the vehicle which had just pulled into an empty office building’s parking lot.
A photo of a prominent senator appeared on his screen. This was the last person he’d expected to be selling secrets to third-rate terrorists. What was the real game here?
He’d just started filming through the periscope when bright lights suddenly shone on the senator as armed men appeared. For a moment he thought the terrorists were fake and had set up the senator, but they were being taken into custody, too. Make that all but one.
This wasn’t an FBI operation. Not CIA, either. Then who? Of course. Naval Intelligence. The office building and parking lot must be Navy property. Clever.
Slowly he lowered the periscope and powered down all electronics, including GPS. He stowed his laptop in a specially-lined compartment, donned a vile-smelling jacket, then gargled with Scotch, spilling some deliberately on himself.
His employer would be very interested in tonight’s drama. So would the competition. This was turning out to be a most surprising and lucrative evening after all. Quietly he exited the back of the van and into the shadows, one with the night.
When I go to the horse racing track, sometimes I am there to try and make money. Alright, when I am there, I am trying to pick the winner. No one wants to pick the loser, right?
Most people just listen to what other people say, and consider their advice to be the best horse racing tips that they can find. They put their money down on the racing tips that they hear, hoping to make a quick buck.
As it turns out, most of these people have picked lemons and lose money. They obviously don’t know that the best way to do it is take the advice of a reputable horse racing tipster, where the words coming out of their mouth are lined with experience, not hearsay.
For me, this has been sound advice, and you can tell that by the end of the day, I am one of the few people that leave the track with money in their pockets.
I thought that I would go all out for a date tonight with my wife. We have both been working very hard lately and haven’t had any time for ourselves. I even went so far to get a babysitter, so the night should be perfect.
I am just waiting for her to get ready before we leave, but I haven’t told her what we are doing. You see, I want it to be a surprise for her because I have something romantic planned for tonight.
A Philadelphia limousine service will be picking us up tonight at our door, where it will whisk us away to the most expensive restaurant in town, where we will wine and dine all night.
After we have eaten, we will go out dancing till the wee hours of the morning.
It looks like the limo is here - I hope tonight is a night to remember.
Two months ago, I gave birth to the most beautiful little baby girl I have ever seen. Before this, I had no idea what postpartum depression really was and I have struggled for the past month, thinking I was a bad mom because I was not happy all the time.
My husband was very supportive and he did everything to try and make me feel better. Every evening, he would take the baby and spend time with her so that I could do something by myself and for myself. Even for something as simple, as taking a bath or going for a short walk.
One day, he brought home a pair of theatre tickets. I thought the gesture was great but I started crying as I knew I was not ready to leave her with anyone but her dad or myself. He told me that the tickets were for me and a friend and that he would be keeping the baby for the evening. What a great guy.
For those of you out there who are roller coaster enthusiasts, you know what I say when it gets into your blood. The thrill of the ride is so exhilarating that after you try it the first time, you can never get enough.
At least that is how I feel. I am always trying to try out new roller coasters to satisfy my need for excitement.
Recently, when I made a trip to London, England, I stopped at Thorpe Park to check out their roller coasters. I had heard that they had one of the world’s largest roller coasters, the Colossus. What got me really excited is that it had 10 inversions - which is the most available in the world.
Let me tell you this - it was worth it. In fact, I rode it five times and it was nothing like any other roller coaster that I have ridden in my lifetime. It was so amazing that I think I will be going back next summer - I just can’t wait.
I have the best MP3 ringtones on my cell phone. I got a bunch of them from my cousin and I was quickly addicted to them. I am, and have always been really big into music and when I bought my MP3 cell phone; it was just another excuse to always have music with me.
Aside from downloading various cell phone ringtones, I also just like to download music to listen to on the bus when I am riding home form school. Music is a release for me and it makes my world a better place when I am in the midst of a bad day. It takes me away from my troubles, even if just for awhile.
I like to download ringtones every day, even if it is just a few. I also spend a lot of time rotating the music that I keep on my phone. I like to keep it current, as well as having some of my favorites on at all times. I like different music for different moods and I trend to have a little of everything on it.
If you have ever looked up anyone famous on a site like ratingzone, then you and I may have a lot in common. I am not enamored with famous people, but I do get curious about them from time to time. I have a life and do not live in the shadow of others.
I do, occasionally read the latest net gossip. Most of it, I am sure is made up by people who do not have a life, but it is, in the very least, a quite entertaining read, and it is often fun to try and decide what is real and what is not.
There are so many entertainment reviews floating around on the net, that it is almost impossible not to see them, even when you are not looking for them. For instance, I was looking for some review on a novel that I was reading for school and I had windows popping up left and right containing reviews about celebrities.
If you are a parent, you can probably relate to my situation. For those of you who are not parents, someday if you become one, you will find that you will not get any free time until they go to bed. Even after they go to bed, chances are you will have something to do, like make their lunch for school or do laundry.
But when I have all my work done, I like to sit at the computer and take a moment for myself. Okay, each minute for me seems like an hour, but I still need to balance the amount of time I play online games versus the amount of sleep I am giving up. Quite often I will only sit down for an hour before I start falling asleep.
I quite enjoy playing classic games such as Pac-Man and Mario. On a good night, I try to beat my high scores that I have written down on a paper. I also play the classic Duck Hunt from time to time - it is much easier than the original game I played on the NES years ago.
Some nights, when I feel like winning some money, I play some casino games. I am talking about fake money of course in games like blackjack and poker. My wife doesn’t mind that I gamble as long as it doesn’t take away from food on our table - and this is the perfect outlet for that.
In some respects these games we play at night are a date for us - it is the one time of the day that we spend together where we can talk. For parents, life starts after the kids go to bed.
Sometimes it is nice to have a weekend off. In fact, this weekend I have today (Saturday) off - which doesn’t happen very often. Now, instead of running errands, or making my day really busy (which can easily happen on a day off), I have decided to just take a lazy day for myself.
I’ll let you guess where I ended up? Right, sitting here at the computer. I went to my favorite fun games website and looked for something to do. I started off playing some fun puzzle games, but I quickly realized - I really wasn’t in the mood for anything that required a lot of brain power. Besides, I was supposed to be enjoying my day, not working my brain.
So, instead I found some fun action games and played those instead. You know the games I am talking about: shooting things, racing, and games that require a quick mouse press.
I think I will play for awhile and then go see a movie tonight. Besides, I shouldn’t play games all day - my eyes and head will hurt too much from sitting in front of the computer. I sure don’t want that to happen.
