Resistance Training Resulting in Improving Women Health and Fitness

Posted By Louise J Brian on May 28, 2009 @ 8:01 am
by Louise J Brian

Health and fitness is gaining importance among the people as they are developing awareness about the adverse effects of not taking care of their body properly. Despite this growing awareness, many people still ignore the importance of taking care of their body. The two most common problems faced by people are of weight gain due to fat deposits, and failing health due to malnutrition.

The impediment of weight gain due to fat accrual is chiefly common among women in their middle ages. The main reason is that they do not take care of this calamity in their youth, and thus have to incident the consequences at a later stage. Most people are relaxed about their health in their early ages and do not actually care about such issues. But as soon as they step into their middle ages, they grasp that it would have been best for them if they had taken this matter into observation when they had the chance.

There are many health programs for women that engross different exercises which are designed to tone the body into suitable shape and to avert certain health trouble. However, most of these exercises are only serene exercises and do not entail any intricate trainings to tone the body. There are differing views on resistance training exercises for women.

These views are established by different doctors, researchers, and appearance experts, and are based mostly on their personal opinions on fitness and beauty. Many women also have different views about these exercises as they are not clear about their benefits and are also misguided by some women who prefer a muscular body. Women who prefer muscular body make other women think that resistance training is all about building a muscular body rather than a gentle toned womanly body.

Most people misunderstand the concept of resistance training for women. They probably assume that resistance training for women is same as that for men. Although, the method is the same, but the object and other factors involved are entirely different from that of men’s resistance training exercises.

They not only take in intricate machine exercises and weight exercises, but also contain a suitable diet and mild toning exercises. Although, some women go beyond it which is usually due to personal preferences or inappropriate fitness guides, resistance training for women is nevertheless very imperative for overall fitness and health.

A woman may reap the fruits of this training in their youth as well as old age. In youth, the fruit may be the great looking body shape and idealistic strength and endurance, whereas in old age the fruit would be strong bones and thus a reduced chance of breaking bones due to a simple fall. Many women who lack such exercises have very weak bones which make their old age very dangerous as they are vulnerable to breaking their bones even by a simple fall from the chair.

This exercise is also very crucial for sharp weight losses as it will support women lose the added weight and endorse their body in correct shape. It is undoubtedly true that women prefer a great looking body that is free from extra fat and is able to support their tasks well. Women who chose aerobics are mainly interested in these exercises, because it not only helps them remain fit and healthy but also helps them obtain strength to perform their tasks.

Does The Sun Cause Skin Cancer?

Posted By Matt Hellstrom on @ 8:01 am
by Matt Hellstrom

Many people go to the beach when the sun is beating down on them, so that they can catch all the rays that they can for a glorious tan. But we now know that too much exposure to the sun can lead to serious skin damage.

Most people already know that they should wear sunscreen when they go outside. However, few people actually apply sunscreen every time they leave the house. Usually, we only think about putting on sunscreen when we expect to be outside all day. We’ve all heard the warnings to wear sunscreen and avoid too much sun exposure. Unfortunately, young people tend to disregard these warnings and don’t think seriously about skin cancer.

No matter how young or old you are, you need to take good care of your skin. Excessive exposure to the sun will lead to damage eventually even if it doesn’t appear for many years. Therefore, you should prevent damage from the sun when you are young so that it won’t become an issue when you’re older. Many steps can be taken to limit or prevent sun damage.

It is important to remember to wear sunscreen any time you go out into the sun, not just on days you’re hitting the beach. We’re exposed to plenty of sun in our everday lives, from waiting for the bus, to walking to work, to having lunch outside.

The standard protection for sun exposure is to wear an SPF of at least 15 to every area that is exposed to the sun. You should also keep your exposure between the hours of ten AM and three PM to a minimum. This is when the sun is at its strongest. It isn’t just during the summer hours that you should watch your sun exposure. You can still become overexposed to sunlight in the fall and winter seasons. Make sure you are wearing a sunscreen all year round.

Keep your sunscreen reapplied throughout the day especially if you have been sweating or swimming. Reapply every two hours to be safe. Children need extra protection. Because you cannot apply sunscreen to children under six months of age, you should limit their exposure to the sun while they are unprotected.

Keep babies covered with clothing and hats to limit their exposure. The delicate skin of children and babies is very susceptible to damage and should be protected especially carefully. Babies are very vulnerable to skin cancer and the sun.

General Advice on Keeping Your Toilet Clean

Posted By Scott Rodgers on @ 8:00 am
by Scott Rodgers

Far too many people only undertake the task of cleaning the toilet during routine spring cleaning. This is a mistake. The bathroom, expectedly, is a site for messy and unsanitary build-up. Don’t neglect it throughout the year; clean it regularly.

If you see or smell the presence of unclean accumulations around the toilet, you probably need to clean it ” and soon! Use something to remove the buildup, making sure to use a strong detergent.

There are whole lines of cleaners that you can use in your bathroom. You may have heard of several foaming cleaners or cleaners with tilted heads that make cleaning the upper bowl easy. These can make cleaning the toilet much simpler.

Drive over to the nearest store carrying cleaning products. Buy a cleanser specifically for bathroom use and, if you don’t have one already, a toilet brush. Cover the bowl with the cleanser and scrub away, making sure you clean the upper bowl thoroughly.

Remember, cleaning a toilet once it is a dirty is only part of the job of keeping a clean toilet. There a things you can do to make sure your toilet stays as clean as possible between full cleanings.

Simply buy preventative cleansers that reside in the toilet for an extended period of time. These auto-wash the bowl over time and will allow you to clean the bowl less often and reduce odors between cleanings.

There’s a caveat, of course. You need to replace the disks that stay in the toilet either weekly or monthly, so you can’t just set it and forget it. It won’t require a full cleaning, but you’ll need to routinely attend to the toilet!

It’s also important to note that these kinds of cleaners can never fully replace a total toilet cleaning. Again, if you ever encounter visual buildup or noticeable odors, you should do a clean immediately.

While the task of cleaning the toilet may, quite literally, stink, it’s absolutely necessary. Cleaning your toilet regularly and not just once a year can make your bathroom a much more pleasant room. Plus, you make your house much healthier overall!

Stuck Finding The Best Skin Care Line?

Posted By Peter Albertonach on @ 7:49 am
by Peter Albertonach

Theres hundreds of skin care lines available, and for many women finding the best skin care products isnt easy. You may know what its like, try a product, it doesnt seem to do much, youve wasted your money and you move on.

It can be such a struggle finding great skin care products and because it’s so hard to see any difference it can be quite some time before you junk them, and you’ve spent so much money.

So here’s some things you ought to consider when trying to find the best skin care products for you.

Firstly you must be aware that there are many skin care products which have ingredients that are considered by some to be suspect and sometimes dangerous to your health. One is “known to cause cancer”.

Is this news to you? If so youre in good company, so many women dont even consider the possibility that their skin care products (and cosmetics and many other personal, beauty and body care products) have ingredients in them which are less than ideal for your body.

Why? Usually because they are cheap to make. There are some excellent companies making natural skin care products that dont contain these types of ingredients, and their products work extremely well.

There is a huge movement right around the world towards safer more natural products including natural skin care products and this may explain why L’Oreal has bought The Body Shop to give it an entry into the market for safer more natural products.

So you’re using skin care products now? Not seeing any difference? You ought to be and if you’re not it’s time to move on. 3 months is enough, you’re spending your money unnecessarily.

Now of course I’m not saying that there are no good skincare products, quite the opposite in fact. I’m saying that you ought to see the difference. Don’t just keep using the products on trust.

And I have a suggestion to make. There is one company that makes what I consider to be the worlds best skin care products and they are so proud of their products that they are willing to offer you a money back guarantee so you can try them risk free.

They know that there are many women who are sceptical of the claims made by many anti aging companies, and who are tired of spending their money without any visible result. So they offer a guarantee so women can try their products risk free. If you dont like the products for any reason you can get your money back.

And these are natural skin care products which don’t contain suspect ingredients, so you don’t risk your health either.

Thats putting your money where you mouth is. And as its so rare in this industry to get a money back guarantee its worth noting. If their products were no good they would be inundated with refund requests. They arent.

And remember, you ought to notice a visible difference to your skin.

Visit my website to find out where you get these products.

Create Your Own Hair Stimulating Aromatherapy Recipe

Posted By June Heath on @ 7:49 am
by Lory Blessed

Here will look at the most effective oils for hair care — both essential oils (like Lavender and Rosemary) and carrier oils (like Evening Primrose and Jojoba) — with details about each so you can create a specific formula to suit your personal hair type. The recipes are easy to make, and you can even just add a few of the oils to conditioners or shampoos you may already be using. And though easy to make, these can be profoundly effective herbal treatment formulas for stimulating hair growth, both for those with healthy hair and those experiencing some hair loss.

The oils used for hair growth are also those used for skin care in general — the health of the follicles is of course closely related to the health of the scalp and skin. Essential oils for your most effective, custom recipe can be selected from one of four general categories. These are: stimulating (increasing cellular metabolism and/or new cell generation), nutritive (offering vitamins, other co-factors and essential fats necessary for healthy follicle function), balancing (returns over-oily or over-dry skin to a balanced state, balances over- or under-active hormones at a cellular level, and/or reduces excess inflammation from any number or sources), and immune-supportive (heal scalp/skin infections that may inhibit optimal hair growth).

Creating your own scalp treatment is as easy as adding the essential oils to long-chain ‘fixed’ oils (also called ‘carrier’ oils or ‘base’ oils in aromatherapy). These oils are in the same family as cooking oils, and they carry the concentrated essential oils into the skin. Also found in these carrier oils are vitamins involved in cellular metabolism, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids (different from ‘essential oils’ in that they are long chain ‘fixed’ oils that are required for normal cell function). The carrier oils have little aroma of their own, and make up about 95% of the total therapeutic blend, with the essential oils making up the last 5%. It is crucial to keep the total essential oil concentration no higher than this — essential oils are very strong plant extracts, and it’s generally found that their best effects are found with lower concentrations than we expect.

We’ll start with the stimulating essential oils. These essential oils are used in skin and hair care to stimulate cellular metabolism (increasing the oxygen and nutrients used by the cell) or stimulate the growth of new cells. Specifically for hair growth, we’d like to stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and grow more hair, thicker and faster. Rosemary is the most popular of the stimulating oils, having been used in hair care remedies for centuries. Of all the Rosemary essential oil varieties available, you should find the specialty-oil for skin and hair: Rosemary c.t. verbenone. The verbenone ‘chemotype’ has unique molecules in it that tells the scalp cells to speed up their activity and even produce new cells. Some therapists note that Rosemary should be avoided during pregnancy by young children (due to its ketone content) and by those with epilepsy (due to its stimulating action), so use this oil with respect, and keep the concentration low for the safest and most effective use.

Sage essential oil, like Rosemary, is also highly regarded for hair care and stimulating hair growth. It is considered the most potent of the regenerative oils, though also the one with the most cautions. Like Rosemary, it should be avoided if pregnant, by children, and by those with epilepsy. Some therapists think it should be just generally avoided by the lay-practitioner, while others believe it is safe at therapeutic dilutions. Sage does have a long history in hair care, mostly as a tea from the leaves of common Sage. The essential oil is relatively new on the scene, and needs to be used in an entirely different manner than the hair-wash tea. The oil should only be used in very low concentrations in a carrier oil–at 1% or less. Kurt Schnaubelt in Advanced Aromatherapy includes it in a recipe for skin regeneration at .25%. This is only 2 drops per ounce of carrier oil!

Nutritive essential oils supply vitamins and vitamin-like molecules which enhance cell functions, including hair growth. Vitamin A co-factors have been found particularly beneficial to the follicles. The most nutritive essential oils supplying these co-factors are Sea Buckthorn Berry and Helio-Carrot (or Carrot Root). Both these essential oils are actually made by a high-tech process called carbon-dioxide extraction, at a lower temperature than the steam distillation used for most essential oils. This process preserves the nutrients in the oils, and brings a broader spectrum of the therapeutic plant molecules into the oil. Both these oils should be used at about 1% of the overall blend.

Next, the balancing essential oils — balancing oils should make up a part of everyone’s blend. Even if you just add a little bit of Lavender, you’re hair will be happy! The balancing oils bring about a balance of the scalp’s natural oil production, and/or cool the scalp and reduce inflammation (inflammation at the cellular level is directly implicated in hair loss). Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) is the premier balancing oil for skin, scalp and hair care, and has many helpful properties — it is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and regenerative all at the same time. If one needs to balance the scalp’s natural oils, Green Myrtle is an excellent choice, also with antibacterial and regenerative properties. Myrtle can reduce excessive oil production (which has been implicated in hair loss and slow hair growth) and can help a flaky, itchy scalp. For women, Clary Sage can be especially balancing, particularly where regular hormone production is the source of hair loss or slow hair growth. Proper estrogen metabolism on the cellular level is critical for beautiful hair, and older women in particular may really benefit from one-half of one percent Clary Sage included in their personal recipes.

Some hair loss is directly related to mild-to-severe scalp infections, and even auto-immune conditions where the body seems to reject its own hair follicles and suppress growth. This auto-immune condition is called alopecia areata, and has been successfully treated with essential oils of Rosemary, Lavender, Cedarwood and Thyme, each at .5% concentrations based in Jojoba and Grapeseed oils. These oils are all antiseptic and stimulating, and can be added to other formulas. Also, Tea Tree essential oil is popular in hair care products, and may be helpful where an itchy scalp indicates a mild skin infection, which in turn suppresses optimal hair growth.

To make a topical formula using these aromatic oils, they should be based (dissolved or diluted) in carrier oils, also known as ‘fixed’ oils. Carrier oils differ from essential oils in that they are in-fact fatty acids, do not easily evaporate, and have relatively little aroma. Olive oil is an example everyone is familiar with. The carrier oils we’ll look at have distinct therapeutic properties themselves. First is Evening Primrose — Evening Primrose has two primary actions: It is nutritive in that it supplies excellent amounts of vitamins for hair growth, and offers a very high amount of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. These should be exceptional for any scalp and hair condition where growth is limited by inflammation (use at up to 100% of the base). Next is Rosehip Seed: this oil has been widely studied for its anti-aging effects, reducing scar formation and wrinkles, plus stimulating regeneration (use at up to 30% of the base). Jojoba oil has a long history of use in hair care, particularly for dry hair, or where one would like their hair to be more shiny and lustrous (use at up to 100% of the base). Coconut oil is highly regarded in cases of hair loss, as in it nutritive and anti-inflammatory. Coconut and Sesame (also anti-inflammatory and nutritive) are used in Ayurvedic medicine to stimulate hair growth (use Coconut at up to 50% and Sesame at up to 100%). Finally, Grapeseed oil is an excellent choice for a ‘light’ oil base, with slightly astringent qualities for oily scalp and hair.

To make and use your personal hair growth formula, select a group of essential oils, and choose the base oils you’d like to use. (It is very strongly recommended you get your oils from a reliable, high-quality source, as oils can be mis-labeled or adulterated — having other products added or substituted for the real thing — when the price is to good to be true.) Add the essential oils at the recommended concentrations (1% is 8 drops of essential oil per ounce of your total mixture). DON’T overdo it, as too much essential oil can possibly irritate the scalp; smaller amounts tend to have the most beneficial effects, and keep the cost of your blend very reasonable. The final blend can be massaged into the scalp at any time of day, and it may be best to start with a scalp that’s just been washed and is warm (the pores are open) and wrap the head with a warm moist towel for 20 minutes after application to increase absorption. If using before bed, be sure to cover your pillow as to not leave oil stains — leaving the formula on overnight may be the best way to receive the most therapeutic penetration of all the healing oils.

This concludes a basic review of the therapeutic use of the best essential oils for hair growth, and how to prepare and use your own personal formula. It’s so easy to make your own blend, and finally gives you control over the particular active ingredients in your hair growth products — plus you can make them using completely natural, and even all-organic essential oils and carrier oils. With regular and consistent use, a well balanced, personal recipe should help the health and vibrancy of your hair in just a short time — and you’ll smell wonderful while doing it, too!

Which Diet Will Help Me Lose 10 Pounds in 3 Days?

Posted By Mary Cornyn on @ 7:45 am
by Gary Fairbanks

Lots of folks need to drop weight, and lots of them are always on the look out for diets that work. The trick isn’t really finding a diet plan that works, but rather beginning a diet to which a person can stick. The 46.8 billion dollar diet industry (as of 2005) depends not on people staying healthy and staying thin, but rather on people taking an endless roller coaster ride between health and fat.

Because the money comes from repeat business, the focus is surely on methods and products that work for a short period of time but result in return business.

Here’s a diet that sheds pounds. Combine limiting caloric intake to 1000 calories a day with at least 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 times a week. That diet will result in losing weight. But there are two issues.

The first is that cravings will ruin the diet. 1000 calories and all that exercise will eventually lead to big hunger and binge eating. One piece of cake, or just one bag of chips, or one extra hot dog will soon steer you to end the diet.

Secondly, the diet eventually ends. You soon go back to eating the identical old way. Next beach season, or next time to put on that dress or tuxedo, or next vacation, or simply the next time you glance at a mirror on the way out of the gym it will be once again be diet time.

The best diet is one making a change to overall diet, permanently. More and more people now understand that to lose weight it’s best to change lifestyle, including healthier eating habits and more physical activity. Connie Guttersen created the Sonoma Diet which, as a base, discusses ten power foods. The power foods are almonds, bell peppers, blueberries, broccoli, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes and whole grains, combined with the cuisine of the Sonoma country, which includes Asian, Latin American and Mediterranean influences. The diet includes a wide variety of real, and enjoyable foods so it’s easy to remain on it .

Want a diet that works? Move your mind from a short term diet to a long term style that’s part of an overall healthy and active lifestyle. That way you won’t put on the pounds in the first place.

What to Look for in a LASIK Surgeon

Posted By Jayson Lee on @ 7:44 am
by Jayson Lee

If you suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, you might be thinking about having LASIK surgery. Your choice of doctors is an important part of your treatment. Your doctor will assist you in all stages of the process. This includes before during and after LASIK eye surgery.

It is not possible to stress enough just how important the choice of doctor is. The thought that since a precisely calibrated laser instrument is used for the surgery, your choice of doctor is really not that important is entirely untrue. One should avoid any consultant or LASIK provider that tries to downplay the importance of the surgeon.

Selecting a surgeon to conduct your LASIK eye treatment could come down to picking the doctor who makes you feel the most comfortable. Comfortable meaning being satisfied with their experience, their training, their offices, their staff and the way your questions or concerns are addressed. Your doctor should communicate a true sense of interest in your well being.

There are some things you should not allow to influence your decision. When choosing a doctor for your LASIK eye surgery, beware of ads claiming extremely low prices for LASIK surgery. The price you see advertised is often not the price you will end up paying. You also want to be careful of and I doctor’s referral. Some are doctors have financial arrangements with a particular LASIK Center so you may not be getting objective recommendations.

You’ll also want to investigate the doctors credentials. If possible, talk to other patients who have had their surgery with the doctor you are considering. Most doctors will volunteer information about their credentials and certifications so don’t be afraid or embarrassed to ask.

Nothing will impact the outcome of your LASIK surgery more than your choice of doctor. Ask yourself if the doctor you are considering makes you feel comfortable. Do his credentials and his manner make you feel as though you are in good hands? Has the doctor done a good job of addressing all of your questions and concerns? Finding the right doctor for you is an extremely personal and important decision so it is important that you take your time and wind up comfortable with your selection.

10 Unknown Facts About Homeopathy

Posted By Sanjib Sarkar on @ 7:44 am
by Sanjib Sarkar

Homeopathy is the most popular form of alternative medicine. However, consumers know very little about homopathy. This article will help solve some misunderstandings with homeopathy.

1) Homeopathic remedies are sugar pills that have nothing in them.

Some homeopathic remedies do have traces of substances in them. Homeopathic medicines such as 6X, 6C, and 12X contain traces of substances. Remedies with the high potencies of 24X or 12C contain no traces of the original substance.

2) Homeopathy has never been successful in large scale well designed trials. Trials have only worked when homeopaths were doing the trials or poorly designed trials with quite a bit of author’s bias.

Homeopathy studies are pretty variable. Some studies show success while others do not. Many people are observing incorrect informational sources. Many people point out on successful homeopathic trials, that larger studies suggest homeopathy does not work. However, the researchers conclusions were that homeopathy was more effective than a placebo.

Some homepathic studies that showed a positive result were pretty big. Oscillococcinum studies showed a positive result by lessening the recovery time of the flu. This study was reproduced by other researchers as well although the reproduced studies were not as large as the first initial study. The notion of homeopathic remedies have not showed a positive outcome in a properly designed study is false.

3) Diseases that can jeopardize a persons life should not be treated with homeopathy.

Homeopathy can treat life threatening diseases with the help of a well trained homeopathic physician. Also, the general medical doctor and other specialists involved in treating the disease should be included on the treatment plan. Medical doctors should always be seen if you have a life threatening illness. Homeopathy can not cure all life threatening diseases.

Many people with life threatening diseases have faired well with Homeopathy. Homeopathy malaria trials show that in trials that homeopathic medicine worked as well as conventional medicine in treating people with malaria.

4) Homeopathy and modern medicine can not work together

Allopathic medicines may some terrible side effects. Homeopathy can be used to help treat these adverse conditions. Trials with homeopathic medicine on chemotherapy suggest the side effects of this type of treatment can be reduced with homeopathy.

5) Alternative medicines such as Herbal, Homeopathy and Ayurvedic are alike.

Homeopathy, Herbal and Ayurvedics are totally different. Homeopathy dilutes substances to a certain level to create medicines. All homeopathic remedies have been diluted to a certain extent.

Herbal medicine is medicine based on the use of plants. Ayurvedic is an ancient system of medicine started in India that operates with the theory that all materials of vegetable, animal, and mineral origin have some medicinal value.

Ayurvedic uses all substances to treat people. Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicine are used by many people in India. Many people confuse these two forms of alternative types of remedies.

6) Homeopathy is slow to work

Homeopathy can quick treat conditions such as flu, colds, motion sickness and pain relief. These conditions come on quickly and homeopathy reacts quickly to help with these conditions. Conditions that are more chronic such as acne, eczema, irritable bowel syndrome and others will be treated over a longer period of time. Homeopathy looks to cure these conditions just not to simply suppress it.

7) Homeopathy is only for people

Petmeds in homeopathy is becoming extremely popular. This is one of the fastest growing segments of homeopathy. Homeopathic medicines offer a safe and cheap way to treat your pet’s conditions. Homeopathic remedies are generally used to treat acute conditions such as allergies, anxiety and joint relief.
8) Homeopathy can be learned via a book.

This may be the case in acute conditions such as cold and flu. However, more complicated and chronic cases will require you to see a homeopathic doctor. Chronic cases involve generally taking quite a few remedies in the course of a treatment. A book can not tell you which homeopathic remedies to take and how much to take when your condition starts to improve or worsen.

9) Homeopathic medicines are not found in too many places.

Homeopathic medicines are found all over now. Many healthfood stores such as Whole Foods has there own section of popular homeopathic remedies. Larger retails are also carrying combination homeopathic remedies for conditions such as cold and flu and sleeplessness. Large retailers that currently carry homeopathic products are Walmart, CVS Pharmacy and Target.

Homeopathic single remedies are not as commonly available as homeopathic combinations. These remedies can be located at speciality health food stores, natural pharmacies or on the Internet. Single remedies users generally have some knowlege of homeoapthy or a doctor as prescribe this medicine for them to use.

10) Homeopathic remedies will have a similar effect on which ever person takes them.

Homeopathy rarely works the same on people. Homeopathy individualizes remedies according to ones personality types and traits. One person may use a single remedy to treat an allergy, while another person would use a totally different remedy to treat the same allergy.

Homeopathy assumes everyone is different so using the same remedy to treat everyone will not work according to Classical Homeopathy principals. Modern medicine generally gives everyone the same medicine for general conditions.

How to Use Pilates Machines for a Stronger, Well-Toned Body

Posted By James Smith on @ 7:41 am
by Reagun Marks

An exercise system known for its controlled body movements, Pilates can significantly improve mental and physical health. It can also boost the strength and flexibility of muscles. Pilates workouts are usually done in two ways. The first is through mat exercises that use a person’s own weight as resistance. The second method uses Pilates machines that are also based on the principle of resistance in toning and strengthening the muscles. Machines for Pilates come in three types: the Cadillac, reformer, and wunda chair.

Cadillac

This Pilates machine is made up of a padded platform with a sturdy frame at its top. Different straps or bars are attached to the frame by springs.

To exercise using a Cadillac, sit on the platform with your body facing the roll-down bar and your spine in a balanced position. Also, make a 12- to 18-inch gap between your feet.

Lightly hold the roll-down bar. Then roll toward the bench. As you do this, pull your abdominal muscles tightly and slowly. Inhale once after your body has been aligned completely with the bench.

Afterwards, exhale while pulling your body up to the direction of the roll-down bar. See to it that you tightly pull in your abdominal muscles.

Reformer

The reformer is a Pilates machine that’s made up of a sliding platform secured at a metal or wooden frame by a series of springs. The sliding platform can be pulled on ropes or pushed off from a stationary bar.

If you’re using a reformer, lie flat on your back as you place your feet on the foot bar. Your knees will bend at 90 degrees because the gliding platform is almost close to the foot bar.

After that, stretch your legs to move the platform away from the foot bar. Breathe in and out gently while you’re doing this. Bend your knees slowly as well.

Wunda Chair

The wunda chair is composed of a small platform that has springs connected to a bar. The main exercise that can be done using this Pilates machine is pushing the bar while you sit or stand on the bench.

When using the wunda chair, start with the basic movements while sitting on the bench. Gradually increase your moves before you can perform more challenging exercises.

If you use the wunda chair standing up, place your right foot slowly at the base of the chair. Bend your left knee, put your left foot on the pedal, and push the pedal down. After you’ve lowered the pedal, lift it once more using your left leg.

Since you already know how to exercise with the above-mentioned Pilates machines, you can now begin to use them so that you can work out your muscles and improve your overall well being.

Can You Trust the Claims About Resveratrol Benefits?

Posted By Louis T. Golenbrecks on @ 7:39 am
by Frederick H. Forthin

We’ve been down this road before, haven’t we? Isn’t it true that whenever we see a new supplement hit the market, were usually told that this is the one that’s going to make all the difference.

Maybe you’re like me. Maybe you’ve taken the bait with other promises and gone out and purchased all kinds of nonsense natural foods or products that all promised to be the holy grail for your mind and body.

And I’m sure that some of them have probably worked for you. I know that some of the supplements I regularly take are definitely making me healthier. Sure, many of them DO work. But there are also others that don’t do a darn thing.

Does this sound familiar? So when the news first broke about resveratrol and it’s supposed fountain-of-youth qualities, I naturally got excited and wanted to rush out and buy resveratrol, but I also tried deliberately to tone down my enthusiasm. I guess this is a side effect of having been burned before.

But we need to make a distinction between resveratrol and the host of other supplements that have been discussed in the past. All you have to do is look at the studies and you can see that the hype may be justified.

In fact, the research is so promising, and apparently so convincing, that even major U.S. the big pharmaceutical companies are starting to climb on this.

So is resveratrol the real deal? Of course I’m not a doctor, but I definitely think it is.

But of course, as always, there is a caveat. Whenever anything gains a sudden popularity the way resveratrol has, you’re going to find that a lot of unqualified manufacturers are going to jump on the bandwagon and start to try and supply this to a hungry public.

So it should be obvious that you need to be cautious about who supplies your resveratrol. I’m show you what I think is the very best way to find the highest quality resveratrol around at this Buy Resveratrol Supplements review page. Just click on the link to see what I mean.

Oh, and the only other thing I want to mention is that you’ll also see how easy it is to get your own supply of resveratrol for free. I know you’ll really like this one, so go click that link and take a look!)

First, just in case you didn’t know about them, I wanted to go through some of the resveratrol benefits so that you can see why everyone is so excited.

Resveratrol can be as much as 50 times more powerful an antioxidant than even Vitamin C?

But what we’re talking about here is only the beginning. And once they tested the stuff in the lab, they found out that they could make subjects seem to almost reverse in age, and had them performing better on tests to measure both mental and physical ability. But this isn’t even the end of the story — there’s more.

I think that this is probably the number one reason that people are so excited. Now, remember that were talking about a substance that occurs naturally, and that apparently stops the aging process.

Now of course it’s true that the long-term studies on resveratrol’s effects don’t exist yet. It could just be me, but it doesn’t make much sense to wait for 20 years until I start getting sick to try and keep myself healthy.

I would definitely rather work on slowing down my own bodies aging today rather than wait. I would think that down the road I’ll be able to say that my decision right now was one of the smarter things I’ve done.
