Whether you are an Internet marketer or simply an individual who wants to make money online, affiliate programs are a quick and easy way to earn extra cash. Some affiliates, known as super affiliates, earn their living doing nothing other than selling affiliate products online.

Lets begin by defining the concept of affiliate marketing. Product manufacturers rely on website and blog owners to help them sell their products and services. Affiliates find a product they are willing to sell and promote that product online. For each sale they generate, they earn a commission.

Affiliate marketing is a great to make a living online. You don’t need to create your own product, store that product, hire a sales force, or pay any overhead. In fact, all you need to do is find products you wish to sell and sell them.

Affiliate products are sold by placing an affiliate link on your website or blog. You can even include your affiliate link within the author section of articles or forum postings. Each time the link is clicked and users are converted through the publisher’s website, you earn a commission.

A question I often get is where to find publishers products to begin selling with affiliate marketing. Fortunately, there are a number of websites that bring together buyers and sellers such as Commission Junction. You can browse publisher’s products and their affiliate programs. Find one that is aligned with your niche or level of expertise, and start selling.

There are many ways to choose a product that’s right for you to sell via affiliate marketing. The best place to start is with what you have. Do you have a website? A blog? If you do, look for products in the same niche. You can easily add a link to your website or blog, promoting an affiliate product. This is the quickest way to earn affiliate commissions.

What if you don’t own a website? At this point, you have a couple of different options. The first is to launch a site or blog. There are a number of resources available to help you do this. One suggestion is to visit template monster or WordPress and build your own online web page. You can then begin to promote this page and include affiliate offers.

The other option you have is to begin publishing articles on a topic that you already know a lot about. I have seen a number of affiliate marketers earn a significant income by writing articles and reviews about products in their niche and then submitting those articles to article directories.

Take stock and think about what you have to begin selling products and earning an affiliate income. Your resources may be a website or blog or simply your expertise in a given industry or niche. Research affiliate products via a publishing network and start promoting. You can begin earning income today.

Article Marketing For Improving Your Website Rankings

Posted By Michael Fleischner on February 28, 2009 @ 3:30 am
by Michael Fleischner

Article marketing has gained a great deal momentum over the last two years. This is due to the fact that many websites, not to mention website rankings, are driven by quality content. As web site owners have learned more about search engine optimization and the value of quality content, they have gravitated towards article marketing.

Even if you are late to the game, article marketing can work for you. For those who haven’t started, I suggest you jump in. Article marketing is still one of the best ways to promote your website. No one needs to be concerned that many are using article marketing as a way to promote their website or blog. In fact, article marketing works regardless of who uses it or how many people author new content.

The reason that article marketing is effective is because you provide search engines and websites with quality content that references your website. In essence, you are producing keyword focused content that can drive browsers to your site or blog. If the article is created properly, you include links back to your website which serve as a powerful way to boost search engine rankings.

When you distribute your article to article sites, blogs, or partner websites, your content gets additional exposure. As your content ages, and links are included back to your website, you benefit from the Google page rank associated with that page and your in bound link.

One error I see made all too often is when individuals, new to article marketing, is that they forget to include a link back to their website or simply link in the wrong way. The proper way to develop in bound links is with keyword rich link text. What this means is that your link is displayed with your keyword not the traditional http.

If you are unaware of how to produce such a link, do a Google search on create html links. You will find dozens of websites that give you the html code you need to create links in the proper way. If you do not embed your keyword in your link text, you are wasting your precious time and effort in article marketing.

After writing your articles and including links using the proper format, the next step is to distribute them on sites that have a high Google PR and are popular for article aggregation and or distribution. I used to believe that the benefit of these article distribution sites were that they served as a resource for webmasters seeking content. The truth however is that it is the sites Google PR itself that provides the value.

Many online article websites are not that good at distributing content. To distribute your articles you would have to use a software package or an online distribution service. Therefore, you want to focus on article directories that can provide value in terms of the page rank they pass through to your links. Focus your efforts on the top article directories to put your article marketing in overdrive.

Create articles in your niche and structure them correctly. Your links in the author box or included in the article must use your keywords in the anchor text. Test all of your links to make sure they work properly. Once you have validated that everything is working properly, distribute your articles to the top article directories.

SEO and SEM For Online Marketing Success

Posted By Michael Fleischner on February 21, 2009 @ 3:38 am
by Michael Fleischner

Sometimes there is a great deal of confusion between search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Although these online marketing techniques are quite different from one another, they share a number of similarities.

Let us begin by focusing on search engine optimization also referred to as SEO and comparing SEO to search engine marketing which is referred to as SEM. Both SEO and SEM require a firm understanding of how they work and where they fit in the online marketing mix. SEO requires a strong knowledge of how search engines work and what it takes to achieve top search engine placement. Search Marketing requires a firm understanding about online advertising, keywords, and ROI.

From the outside, both internet marketing methods appear to be very complex. The truth however, is that SEO and SEM are simple to understand. Implementation of best practices is what makes success such a challenge. Search engine optimization is essentially the techniques you use to rank well on major search engines is a direct result of your understanding and application of proven techniques in the area of SEO.

SEM success is based on an understanding of running online marketing campaigns across various advertising networks. The largest networks are Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Each works differently but at the same time, the general premise is the same. You place an online ad that displays when users type in specific keywords that you identify. If a browser clicks on your display ad, you pay a fee regardless of whether or not they convert into a customer.

Search engine optimization is different from search engine marketing in many ways. SEO is defined as the organic result that shows up in search engine results pages after a user generates a query. Techniques associated with SEO are broken down into on-page optimization and off page-optimization. These techniques have their own nuances but are independent of one another.

The purpose of SEO is to generate natural traffic to your website. After a browser completes a search on Google or other major search engine, the resulting list is based on each search engines algorithm. When users click on these results you do not pay. Organic search is usually referred to as natural or free traffic.

Search engine marketing differs in that you pay when users take an action. Unlike traditional advertising you do not pay for your ad to display. You do however pay when a browser clicks on your ad. The amount you pay varies on the competitiveness of your keywords and the position in which you want your ad to display.

Anyone doing business online really needs to study and become and expert in both SEO and SEM. These two disciplines drive your online success and can either make or break a legitimate online business. Learn more by subscribing to a blog or reading information online. Each piece of information you add can have a significant impact on your results.

If they’re not then you won’t get the traffic that you want or the search engines will not list your content as high as you’d like. So be very picky when you set forth your keywords for your video. Once you have them chosen then it’s time to implement them. There are numerous other places that you can submit videos as well and some of them you don’t even need to actually upload the videos but can use RSS and MRSS (see below).

RSS and MRSS “Google Webmaster Tools allows you to link sitemaps so that the Googlebots can more easily find your content. RSS is generally used for standard text and image-based content while MRSS is used for media itself, and can really help boost your search results ranking. Start up Business Advertising Strategies

Posted By Marten Davis on February 19, 2009 @ 3:07 pm

Considering the various methods of gaining traffic via the search engines can be a real dilema.

Trying to figure out the best method to gain immediate position is a dilema. The problem is, pay per click advertising is expensive and there is high competition for almost all keyword combinations.

For a home business that is just starting up, gaining position must be done at moderate cost. Once the business is up and going and customers are finally making money for you, advertising dollars become easier to get.

Initially it is wise to use an automated system of gaining enough traffic to get a start. There are many places where automated submission companies can be selected.

The length of time that the company has been in the Search Engine Positioning business i important. Those that have been in the business for some time will note that fact on their website. Look for it.

After making some money in the new business, it is wise to put back as much of this revenue as possible toward increased traffic. After the initial mass submission, it is wise to select a good pay per click specialist to set up your first campaign correctly.

Hopefully your business is now thriving. Keep using some revenue to increase traffic via the pay-per-click by increasing the spend limit for your campaigns. The pay per click advertising method is really effective since you can regulate the amount of traffic like turning on and off a faucet.

Search engines and buying links from high pagerank websites

Posted By reklicom on @ 11:41 am

I want to say something. This one is well known, make sure that you are not being linked to from a page that has hundreds of links on the same page.

In fact, they state on their website that, Buying and selling links is a normal part of the economy of the web when done for advertising purposes, and not for manipulation of search results. And here is where Googles new campaign runs into trouble. How does one decide what links are for advertising purposes vs. manipulation of search results?

Focus on the topic or theme of the page that is linking to you. Focused links are quite likely more valuable. At the same time do not go overboard with this one. Unrelated links have value too. But the one thing that you should avoid is getting links from pages that link to a lot of “bad” pages. True you cannot control who links to you. But at least avoid knowingly getting links from “bad neighborhoods.”

There are other methods of getting links, but link exchanges seem like a omnipresent way to get links. You have been approached by link buyers, link sellers, and brokers. Every one out there believes that getting links is the be-all and end-all of search engine optimization.

The fact is that the Google algorithm cant distinguish between a paid link and an equity link. Consultants often provide links to companies they are doing or have done work for.

Well after these several years that I’ve been on the internet I too heard the call and have followed the many internet bandwagons that have rolled into e-town touting the next ‘latest and greatest’ snakeoil software to get one traffic that they won’t believe.

First of all, I think that it is not natural to have many sites giving you sitewides. Why would a normal site want to give you a link from all of its pages? Ok, for a coupe of sites there might be some reason, but for the most part it is unnatural.

Sound familiar? To most owning one or several websites it will. But after being dragged around the reciprocal linking millstone over the last several months in a valiant attempt to obtain many reciprocal link exchanges and closely monitoring all completed link requests I can truthfully say that that job in itself is a bugger to track and stay on top of.

Other reasons could be because the book publisher paid for a link, the owner of the publishing house received a free load of fertilizer to try out (in hopes of being mentioned in a future book); he liked it; he thanked them with a link, or even the gardening supplies company is owned by a man whose sister is a sales associate for the book publisher.

Third, make sure that your links are added slowly and not all at once, unless your destination page is newsy. I am not saying that getting a thousand links in a week is too many. But a thousand links in one week and close to no links for the next few weeks might look strange.

Social Bookmarking And Getting Links

Posted By Matt Willis on @ 6:18 am

Tags can range from being broad to very specific which allows the user to browse by generality or specificity. The allowed people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or via a search engine. Tags are words that help categorize or describe the basis of the article that is in reference.

It became apparent with the growing power of the new search engines that it was easier just to search for a particular site afresh each time. In effect, search engines were now able to provide a dynamic bookmarking service, or bookmarks on demand.

Bookmarking is done on the basis of quality and interests and does not often reflect their own sites content. Bookmarking manually to many sites used to be a time consuming process. Bookmarking sites have certainly brought a degree of order to the Internet, in the past this has always been a problem area for web users, as they generally have to visit many sites to gather information on a single subject.

Users from around the globe bookmark entire sites or specific pages using their favorite social bookmarking sites. You can bookmark your sites yourself and then hope others will share the links and in some cases vote your entries up, like Digg users will do. If your sites tend to be less newsworthy and more general, then you shouldn?t worry about how many people vote for a story or share your links.

Social bookmarking tools also share this characteristic: the more they are used, the more value accrues to the system itself and thereby to all who participate in it. Social bookmarking is the process of saving and tagging bookmarks to a pubic website.

Traffic from social bookmarking sites is notoriously unreliable. Traffic from social bookmarking sites is free. To gain instant access to more social traffic videos, fill in your first name and your valid email address. Sometimes the traffic is not all what it seems.

SEO Design Made Simple

Posted By Michael Fleischner on @ 5:38 am

When designing a new web site, there is a great deal to consider before you begin. Have you chosen a good niche? Have you organized your content in a way that is search engine friendly? Do you have a URL that makes it easy for search engine spiders to know what your website is all about?

Search engine optimization of web site design is easy if you know what to do. Even if you have done all of the planning and preparation that you can to guarantee a functional website, you must consider the needs of search engine spiders and SEO.

The first step in SEO design is to start with an site designed in html. Additionally, the use of a cascading style sheet is essential. Cascading style sheets allow you to design with minimal code. This keeps your site optimized while providing a consistent look across all web pages. Your design must be simple and effective to be search engine optimized.

Web pages should all have a unique set of meta tags including title, description, and keywords. Additionally, the keywords you are trying to optimize for should be contained within your meta tags and on page as well. Your template should have your keyword phrase at the top of your page as well as at the very end of your page.

A great technique for placing keywords in the proper location is by using your title tag with your keyword phrase. At the end of each web page, post your copyright notice followed by your keywords. One example is Copyright 2009. MySEOmadeSimple.com Marketing Expert. If marketing expert is your keyword phrase it should be included as part of the copyright notice in the footer of your web page.

In addition to including your keyword at the beginning and end of your web page template, consider the following SEO design techniques. Include your keyword phrase in heading tags such as H1 and H2. Shoot for a keyword density of around 3 to 5 percent. Finally, be sure that your keyword phrase is in bold, italic, and underlined. Well optimized sites keep their word count between three and six hundred words.

Simple SEO design is incredibly effective for achieving top rankings. These techniques help to expose your keyword phrase to search engine spiders. Additionally, they make each web page simple to scan, read, and react to. Take advantage of simple SEO design and results will follow.

Buying links and the google’s reaction

Posted By Serkan Livingstone on @ 5:37 am

Buying links is definitely risky business. As google continues to identify these people it is likely that it will become less of a problem for them, but Yahoo and other search engines are definately not taking the same precautions.

Buying links for the traffic does not seem to be the best way to spend money either as text link traffic can be very thin. This whole text link slap does not bother me at all. Buying links can be done through link broker networks. Link broker networks allow you to search through a large database of Web site owners who have agreed to sell Web site links.

Buying links is like covert advertising. If you do it the right way, it adds value to both the movie and your brand. Buying links is an integral part of online business. It is aimed at increasing your website’s traffic so that you products and services are instantly available to a large number of people.

Google has always had a link spam filter to stop link farm links (100′s or even 1000′s of links from a single domain from counting), but why would they filter a single links from many different domain? That would certainly put a kink in their results.

Google has stated several times (many times through Matt Cutts) that buying links is not an acceptable practice and that doing so can get you in trouble. Matt shows an example of where this is the case here .

Google has asked that Internet users report sites that have paid links. Its a laughable suggestion. Google came the day after. Never before since 1997, have I managed to get all the major crawlers to come and spider within 48 hours.

Google even goes so far as to include a way to report other sites for selling and buying links by using their Google Webmaster Tools Web site. This doesnt mean that buying links will automatically get you blacklisted with the search engines.

Google can certainly discover your links and discount them, but they hopefully also respect the effort it takes to purchase effective text link advertising. Labeling purchased links as “grey area” makes the job of engineers a bit easier, by buying time until the algorithm is more effective by becoming dependent on other factors.
